Zongo est désemparé, Bouanga son âne s'est égaré. Il part à sa recherche dans le village voisin et en chemin rencontre Bila le forestier. Il lui apprend que de nombreux animaux ont mystérieusement disparus dans la savane. Zongo part consulter Poko la bonne sorcière aux pouvoirs ancestraux.
