Ziggy Marley, de son vrai nom David Marley, est le fils aîné de Bob Marley. Né à Kingston en Jamaïque, c'est à 17 ans qu'il sort son premier album Play the game right. En mai 2003 il sort un premier album solo (auparavant il signait Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers), "Dragonfly", enregistré aux Etats-Unis ; un album fusionnel dans lequel le reggae n'est pas forcément la couleur dominante.
