Après un premier album "Attention deficit" sorti en novembre 2009, Wale signe en 2011 avec "Maybach Music Group", le label crée par Rick Ross. Il sort alors son 2ème album, "Ambition" le 1er novembre 2011. Dès son entrée, l'album atteint la seconde place au Billboard 200.
