Provenant de la scène rock-emo hexagonale, Luke (ex Full Screen et ex Parisatellite), Guish (ex Minimum Serious et ex Parisatellite) et Ju (ex Full Screen, ex 36 side et Devil Named Jones) se lancent dans un projet plus electroacoustique et plus intimiste.Très rapidement, le trio est rejoint par un multi instrumentiste : Frank « Pat's », ce qui a indéniablement apporté au groupe une meilleure dynamique. Tout en gardant sa fibre rock SEPTEMBER BOY est influencé par des artistes comme Ed Sheeran, Dashboard Confessionnal, City and Colour, Get Cape wear cape fly ou Jimmy Eat World
