Il vit et travaille en France. Percussionniste, batteur, Seijiro Murayama donne des concerts de musique improvisée depuis 1982 et a notamment travaillé avec les musiciens : Fred Frith, Tom Cora, Keiji Haino, Hideyoshi Hosoda (g), K.K.Null, Lionel Marchetti, Jérôme Noetinger. Il travaille actuellement en trio avec Thierry Madiot et Pascal Battus, en duo avec Emmanuel Petit.
