D'origine sénégalaise, Sefyu a grandi à Aulnay-sous-bois (93). Depuis 1999 et ses premières apparitions, le rappeur a développé un style caractéristique marqué par ses lyrics tranchants, teintés d'une réelle conscience sociale, et sa voix "d'outre-tombe". Avec son 1er album paru en avril 2006, Sefyu s'affiche d'ores et déjà comme l'une des grandes révélations du rap français cette année.
