Lame a été fondé à Nantes en 2018, suite au désir d'Etienne Sauvage de créer un nouveau projet autour de ses propres compositions. Il contacte immédiatement Bertrand Gavroy, talentueux bassiste rencontré sur un précédent projet. Ils sont ensuite rejoints par David Pecheloche à la guitare lead et Nicolas Wendling à la batterie.
