Guitariste et chanteur de blues américain, Johnny Winter a été un des participants du festival Woodstock. Un an auparavant, en 1968 'l'albinos' sort son premier album intitulé "The Progressive Blues Experiment". Vingt ans après, en 1988, il sera introduit dans le Blues Hall Of Fame.
