Violoniste anglaise, Jennifer Allum travaille l'improvisation et le répertoire contemporain post-1945, notamment au sein de son quatuor le Post Quartet, en privilégiant les courants musicaux découlant du Scratch Orchestra de Cardew. Elle a été amenée à travailler avec des compositeurs comme Christian Wolff, Michael Parsons, Tom Johnson et Michael Pisaro. Elle lia une amitié et une complicité musicale avec Eddie Prevost, en étant une participante régulière de ses ateliers d'improvisation depuis 2005.
