Né à Lagos au Nigéria, El Fata berce son adolescence aux sonorités jamaïcaines de Michaël Rose, Don Carlos ou encore Dennis Brown...C'est alors qu'il commence à composer en anglais et en français. Il enregistre son 1er album « The coming of El Fata » en 1999. Il devient très vite populaire avec son groupe The Living Spirit Band et écume les festivals et concerts sur la Côte d'Ivoire jusqu'en 2004. Depuis installé en Angleterre, il poursuit sa carrière en collaborant notamment avec Mad Professor, Mungo's HiFi ou encore Jahtari.
