Au cours d'un voyage improbable au bord de la mer Caspienne en Azerbaïdjan, Low Bird (voix) et Jimmy Q (guitares, synthétiseurs, production) décident de monter leur groupe Caspian Pool. Fortement influencés par l'électro 80's (Space, Ganymed) et la pop glam 70's (Roxy Music, David Bowie), les deux français originaires d'Annecy mixent la new wave, le glam rock et l'Italo Disco. Pour leur premier album à venir "Tropical Inside", ils ont fait appel à l'anglais Oliver Wright (Hot Chip, The Two Bears...).
