Le saxophoniste Bill Evans s'est fait connaître à 22 ans lorsqu'il a rejoint le groupe du trompettiste Miles Davis. On l'entend sur trois albums de Miles : ‘The Man With The Horn', ‘Decoy' et ‘We Want Miles'. Au niveau de son style, Evans a été influencé par les plus grands saxophonistes de Sonny Rollins à Joe Henderson en passant par Stan Getz, Steve Grossman et Dave Liebman.
