Il a été membre du Mingus Big Band, du Dave Holland Big Band et Sextet, du George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band. Il a tourné aussi avec les plus grands de son époque, tels que Michael Brecker, Bob Moses, Elvis Costello, David Sanborn, Eric Clapton ou Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Il a été professeur à la New York University (NYU).Ce projet marque la rencontre entre une rythmique internationale basée en France (Patrick Cabon au piano, Gary Brunton, contrebasse, Andrea Michelutti, batterie) et ce musicien formidable qui est Sipiagin, pour prouver, encore une fois, que le langage du jazz n'a aucune frontière.
